A mount bronze statue was created of Alfred Lowell in Hoben Park near mile 0 of the Iditarod National Historic Trail. Alfred played a key role in assisting Jujiro Wada in the trail between Seward and Iditarod. He was a member of the Lowell family, the first family in the Seward area.
The statue is cast and mounted by Patrick Garley of Arctic Fires and Bronze Sculptureworks. Along with the statue is an informational sign about Alfred as a pioneering trail locator and the significance of the Iditarod Trail.
