Summer Program Support
Summer programming for Four Valleys Community School.
Program support funds were used to supplement program development, pre-class planning, and program operations. These programs also took place outside and incorporated the local flora and fauna of the KMTA area.
Explorations included biking the Girdwood to Bird Point bike path, local bike trails throughout Girdwood, and the Trail of Blue Ice in Portage, AK. Hands-on games, useful scientific exploration tools such as magnifying glasses, and most importantly 11 activity kits purchased through NatureWatch; were used to make lesson plans for the summer programs. Each of the adventure camps was built on the philosophy of place-based education.
